I've decided to run back home after work at least once a week. Just like the run I ran on 6/01/2009, I will be running from my workplace in Ubi/ Payah Lebar all the way back home to Pasir Ris. This week I tried a slightly new route compared to last week's which I think is a slightly shorter than last week route. This route took me across places like Bedok Reservior, Temasek Polytechnic etc. Once again with the help of my Nike+ Ipod I felt so pumped up to run as fast I could.
My Route (13/1/09) : Comfort Driving Centre (UBI) -> Enterise One Building -> Kaki Bukit Prison -> Alkaff Mosque -> Bedok Reservoir -> Temasek Polytechnic -> Tampines SAFRA -> Holy Trinity Church -> Griffit Primary School -> Tampines East CC -> Tampines JC -> Loyang Avenue -> Loyang Point.

I wasn't as fast as on 6/1/2009 but I think this route was more scenic and the fact that I did not have to run through the crowded Tampines Interchange to get back is pretty relaxing. Don't really like to run and dodge a lot of people.
Next week. new route - cutting through bedok reservoir park to its estate then Safra. l'll be avoiding Temasek Polytechnic & Tampines interchange.

Run Like Crazy 1km
Monday Sucks! Work, work and more work. After a long 3 days of grueling circuit Weight training session in 3 separate gym. I was so freaking sore but I guess its good cause I've never felt so much gain ever..
Lunch time. Weather was a killer. Awesome time for a 1km sprint. I laced up, did my warm up and stretched as if I was on the track team. I even pretended there was starting line. Bang! I ran, with Ipod in one hand, I ran like I never did before, taking long strides and quicker pace.
300 Meter to go. Pace 4.35 min/km - you got to love the voice feedback coming out from your ipod. Then just like that. -

Sweet at this rate I might be able to complete 2.4km in less then 10 mins..

I signed up for this year's Newton Active run also known as the Punggol run in 2008. I had completed the 5km Punggol Run last year, but that was in Punggol Mrt area. This year due to the sponsorship by Newton Footwear, they called it the Newton active run 2009 that will be held in Sengkang, which is awesome as I know the route well.
I consider myself to be a ''weekend Sengkanger'' ever since Anchorvale SRC opened in July 08. Most Saturday mornings, I make my way from Pasir Ris to Sengkang. The bus passes through the TPE,. Once I alight,I'll start running to the Anchorvale SRC where I cool down and start my weight training in the gym. This will be followed by an hour or 1 1/2 hr of swimming. To wrap it all up, I make my way to Compass Point to have my brunch.

After my long 10k++ run on 6th Jan 09, I was feeling very restless at work. It was lunch time.The cafeteria food sucks and I don't like to "Siesta" during lunch. I had an hour and a half to kill. Just so happens I got my running shoes and my Ipod with me in the office. I Suit Up!.. more like Suit down, climacool up and make my way out of office to run.
I realize the Nike+ Ipod has this function that allow users to create their own running distance. So I set it up for 1km. The weather was scorching.
Running. The Nike+ Ipod device will track the distance that you have already covered and tells you the distance left to cover. It also tracks your speed. - its very motivating as you'd want to beat your previous records.

NIKE+ Ipod Experience - First Run
I bought the Nike+ Ipod device for the new year in the hope that it'll improve my timing in my runs and also to keep track of the distances that I've covered in my runs. Plus, the reason I got it was that I like the voice feedback that will notify you of your speed and miles you've covered - Very motivating
My First Run with Nike+ Ipod
I had not run a single Kilometer after the SC Singapore Marathon which was on the 7/12/2008, So today after work, I decided to run back home. My workplace is in the Paya Lebar/ Ubi District and I stay in Pasir Ris. I had run home from work several times before while training for the SC Singapore marathon but had never measured the distance, all I know I will start running at 6:30pm and reach home by 8:00pm on the dot. Finally now I can do it all with my Ipod and Nike+.

After running a total of 13 running events in 2008, a friend of mine suggested that I should record all my runs for 2009 in a blog. Being the New Year and after watching Yes Man! I say what the heck!
So I hope to run more then 10 running events and maybe even complete 2 Full Marathons this year, Adidas Sundown Marathon & SC Singapore Marathon.I hope to improve my timing for my 5K, 10K, 15K & 21.125K as well.

I'll be posting information of my upcoming runs in Singapore, whether it be a local 5K run or even a vertical Marathon. I'll also include running routes that I have ran.
